Dec 26th

*deep cleansing breath* .... Christmas is over and everything actually got done. The gifts were succesful, the parties were fun and the food was yummy.......but I have to say, I am not sad it's over! So ready to get back into a normal routine!
I have several goals this year:
~ I need to get a grip on my eating! Some friends and I are doing a "Biggest Loser" kind of thing, and I did really well the first 2 weeks...then blew it at Christmas. Hopefully I didn't do that much damage!
~ Get the house organized and keep it that way
~Do something creative everyday
~List new items in my Etsy a couple of times a week
~make a couple Youtube videos a week
~post to my blog at least 3 times a week

I think it's a do-able list, but we shall see!

Hopefully I can get my studio finished and the basement back in order today. That would be a great start!

Altering paper flowers by embossing

 Hello!
I just finished a video showing how to add color and sparkle to your paper flowers. It's the same technique that I used on the flowers on my snowflake wall hanging. It's very easy, and most of you probaly have all the supplies you need at home. Here's a link to the video.....     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1c9Uq3ZYCY

submission for the I Am Roses color Challenge IARCC

Today I made a snowflake wall hanging for an I Am Roses color challenge. I was at a little disadvantage because I only have a few I Am Roses flowers. The challenge was to to do something Christmas-y in blue and white. I only had white flowers, so I added some color to them using embossing powders. I'll do a YouTube tutorial and add the link this week.

I cut 3 chipboard and 3 Prima design paper snowflakes from one of my Accucut dies, then papered the chipboard. The little vintage image came from the Graphics Fairy Blog I believe. She has a ton of wonderful images you can use, so stop by and check her out.

I didn't have any blue flowers so I added some color to the white ones with embossing powder. The lace is only adheared on the sides. I thought it would be fun to be able to slip new pictures behind the lace every year, so it kind of acts as a pocket. (You could even switch out the pictures depending who was going to be visiting you lol....make everyone feel special!) Lastly, I just wove the ribbon through the holes in the snowflakes. It was actually very easy to do!

If you'd like to purchase the chipboard pieces and ore the design paper pieces, just comment below. The chipboard pieces will be $3.50 for 6 and the design paper pieces will be $3.75 for 6.
Thanks so much for visiting me! I'd love if you'd click the follow link and come back!

Moving my studio...ugh

Sooooooo, I think I'm going to move my studio back upstairs to free up some room in the basement for my boys. (Hubby included) They want to put a foosball and shuffle board table down there....it's okay though...I tend to ooz out unto the ping pong table, which isn't fair to them. If you want to get an idea of how daunting this task is going to be, take a peek of a studio tour I made on youtube  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhacwVZPKgE

Currently I'm in the basement, and now I need to figure out how to squeeze all my goodies into a smaller room on the second level. I guess I'll be looking at online video tours to get some ideas. If you have any great storage tricks please share!

......instead of working on the room lol.... I made a new card kit for my Etsy store!  I used to sell lots of card kits on Ebay, but then I got into the mini albums. I think I'll do more card kits. cards are fun because you can complete a project in one sitting. They are a perfect project for the crafter who has a little adult ADD! On the card above I just inked all the pieces with frayed Burlap distress ink. If you're interested in the kit, you can find it here http://www.etsy.com/listing/67220377/vintage-victorian-shabby-chic-card-kit

Here are some pictures of a small Birdcage chipboard mini I made. It was so fun to make!

I'm back!

I don't really have a good reason for not posting lol....I've never really done a blog and I guess I didn't stick with it long enough to get the hang of it. I am however going to try it again. I hope to really get going on it after Christmas, everything is just crazy around here. My oldest plays hockey and it seems like he's on the ice everyday. My youngest plays basketball which is also several times a week. i know everyone else is just as busy, i just don't know how they get it all done!
I'm going to post some links to some youtube video's I've uploaded. This is a new adventure for me, I'm really having a good time with it!
